Sri Dasmesh School was founded on July 31, 1981 as a result of the vision of S. Prakash Singh Badal, who desired "quality education on the most modern lines to be imparted to the boys and girls of the day". Along with Mr. Badal were Mr. Harchand S. Brar, Mr. Daljit S. Rana, Mr. Mohinder Singh, Mr. Satwant Singh, Major General Tara S. Bal, Brigadier H.S. Dhillon, Brigadier Harbans Lal Talwar, Mr. Harkewal Singh and Mr. R.S. Randhawa as founders.
